Overview
Deceased 1924
Details
Last foal of the celebrated imported Desert Bred mare Queen of Sheba. After the partition of the stud in 1906, he was retained by Wilfred Blunt, Newbuildings. He was purchased by F Lothrop Ames, Massachusetts and exported to the USA in 1909 where he became a US Army Remount Stallion for a short space of time. He was later acquired by WR Brown of Maynesboro Stud in 1923. He only sired 6 pure bred foals in the United States, but one of these was the exceptional Gulastra. Sadly, WR Brown believed him to be sterile after the 1923 breeding season and, with the permission of the United States Remount, had him put down. The resulting four foals in 1924 were quite a surprise!
