Elune was adopted from a pet shop alongside her sister Jadzia in September, 2011. They had been fighting badly (Elune had apparently ripped off most of Jadzia's tail), so they sat alone in tiny cages. My boyfriend and I felt so bad for them, so we decided to take them home and attempt to reunite them properly. Only a few weeks later they were together and they have never fought since. Elune is the timid one, although she does appreciate some cuddling from time to time. She's a lot more keen on grooming Jadzia than Jadzia is about being groomed, so she does feel a bit lonely now and then. When this happens, she gets to be together with one of our other degu pair, Hermione, for an hour or two, and then she's happy again :)
