Leonardo grew up in a field with a miniature horse, without much human contact. He was rescued, along with his mini horse companion, by a friend who had mini horses and mini donkeys. Turns out his mini friend had kidney failure and had to be euthanized shortly after she rescued them. Leo did not want to hang out with her mini donkeys (he did not see himself as a donkey) and her mini horses did not want him hanging out with them so he spent a lot of time off by himself. I offered to buy him because I knew my Arab and my mini are super friendly and would accept him. He is not very trusting of humans, but my husband and I have won him over - as long as we don't move towards him too quickly and don't have anything scary (which is pretty much most things). He is super sweet and has come a long way since we brought him home in August of 2012.
