Details
Bred by Lady Yule at Hanstead Stud, Lady Wentworth made an offer for him in 1943 which Lady Yule turned down (relations between the two breeders not being amicable). He was purchased instead by Mr C McConnell in 1944 who then sold him to the British Bloodstock Agency who in turn sold him finally to Lady Wentworth in 1944 (this resulted in relations between Hanstead and Crabbet being terminated completely). He proved a magnificent sire. An individual with great presence, he was shown twice and won each time. He sired 70 registered purebred foals in the AHSB. Indian King is widely agreed to be his best son. He died at Crabbet at age 28 in January 1968.
