All Crabbet in pedigree, he was purchased by Lady Wentworth for Crabbet Stud in 1939. Purchased by Mr AJ Botha and exported to South Africa in 1951. Although very spirited, he was quiet and easy to handle and considered by many to be a perfect horse of marvellous beauty and confirmation. He proved a great and influential sire.

Raktha won many prizes in the showring including Champion at the London Show in 1937, Champion Stallion at the AHS Show in 1948, 2nd Senior Stallion Class at the AHS Spring Show in 1946 and 1st Senior Stallions Class at the AHS Show in 1948.
