SHF Southern Whiz x Citona
Details
Southern Heritage Farm's most famous daughter is SHF Pearlie Mae . Pearlie was Swedish International Champion Mare in 1995, Champion Mare at Towerland International Show and All Nations Cup Champion Mare in Aachen, Germany, the same year. The next year, she was British National Champion Mare, European Champion Mare and World Champion Mare at the Salon de Cheval in Paris, France . She is an international mare having been sold to Brazil and ultimately to Shirley Watts of the United Kingdom. The Watts own Halsdon Arabians of Devon, England, and have purchased many of the high selling mares at the Polish Prestige Sale. Shirley is the wife of Charlie Watts, the drummer for the Rolling Stones, and Pearlie is her most decorated mare. When Pearlie was shown at the World Championships in 1996, she was suffering from dehydration. The dehydration was from a delay in being transported to Paris caused by a trucker's strike in France. Her transport vehicle had to wait in a long line to get on the ferry to Belgium and come thru France on back roads to get to Paris for the show. The exhausting trip did not allow her to stop and rehydrate. Pearlie literally dropped her head into Paul Atkinson's arms. He was the trainer for Shirley Watts. During the preliminary class line-up before her individual judging, Pearlie showed how truly exhausted she was. The heart of her bloodlines came thru when Paul clucked to Pearlie as her time to perform came. Her tail went up and she stood and trotted off like the champion she was. After having fluids tubed into her following the class, as absolutely no drugs are permitted on the European show circuit, Pearlie felt much better. The following day, she won in the finals and was high scoring mare of the show.
