During World War I, he was smuggled into Russia disguised and plastered in mud. Imported to England by the sculptor Walter Winans, he was acquired from Mr Webb-Ware by Mr HVM Clark for Courthouse Stud c1918/19 and only used for one season. He was purchased by Mr Charles Hayden on behalf of Lady Wentworth in the spring of 1920 and used extensively at Crabbet Stud. His name means "The Lark". A quote from the studbook described him as "snow white of perfect beauty, style and confirmation; splendid arch of neck; exquisite ideal head with big black eyes; small and sharp cut ears; enormous strength and breadth of back and loins; tail set high and arched very high; dancing, prancing action". He was one of the most influential Arabian sires of all time. He won many prizes in the showring and sired 47 foals including Naseem, Raffles and Raseyn. He died at Crabbet in February 1930.
