Welcome to my home on Pedegru. Enjoy my New 1st Chapter draft 'Dore' (Golden); Discussion link below. As an animal enthusiast, advocate, and writer about relationships between animals and people Pedegru is ideal for meeting and sharing with others like I!
Details
The Discussion Page called 'Dore' (or Golden) is the book I'm now writing about a young, smart, outspoken and beautiful young French girl, Nanette, who is far more mysterious than she at first seems. She is not unlike our daughter Catherine who also spent time as a child in the town where my husband, Philippe, spent his youth. Rural but less than a day's drive to Paris the outside world was slow to creep into the idyllic setting there yet it was inevitable. Life is changing faster and faster and Nanette's family grapples with holding on to their root while not getting stuck in them. Nanette charms and frustrates her parents, neighbors, and teachers but brings something to their lives no one else ever could; something far greater, and perhaps even a little dangerous, than anyone anticipates! Her relationship with animals, like ours, is an inevitable quality in her life without them her life wouldn't be, and because of them never will be, the same. My husband, whom I met in college, and I still spend time in France but have made a home here in Asheville, North Carolina. The bucolic mountains, the light fog resting on the peaks, the lush greenness is a site as welcome to us as a blanket in Autumn. Catherine works in New York as a producer and we see her, and Henri, often. I've been writing since the age of 10 in my native Western Massachusetts and have always enjoyed the blending in my writings that comes from living in different places. Passing decades, new friends, old friends, hard times and good ones all weave together to create a rich life experience. I enjoy sharing, and feel blessed to share my blending of experiences with others. Please write with your thoughts and ideas and since Dore' is a current work, though I have the framework, I'd love to hear your ideas about where you feel Nanette might take us next.
