Start typing the name of ancestor. If it doesn't come up then you click the link that says 'add a new animal'. You just keep doing that until you have as many as you want in the pedigree. I can tell you that the pedigree is magnificent with at least one image per profile...it's good but not as much without them. Once you submit it at the bottom you'll now have a profile home page for your animal as well. On that page you can see the tabs about 1/2 way down and one of them says 'pedigree'. Click on that and you'll see that animal at the head. The badges to the right are empty and this is where you click 'add a male or female parent'.

once you're signed-in click on your badge at the top right in the header...don't click the down arrow but the badge itself. That will take you to your personal home page. As you scroll down you'll see that the first green button you come to says 'add an animal' so click that and it takes you to the input page for your animal.

Just start entering animal profiles and adding ancestors then you can link them together under the pedigree tab of any profile. If there are ancestors in the system it will find them when you start typing the name but if no name comes up then you click 'add an ancestor' and just keep it rolling.
