The Cape, Common or Brown Hare (Lepus capensis) is a hare natively found throughout Africa, and has spread to many parts of the Europe, Middle East and Asia. The Cape Hare is a nocturnal herbivore. They are fast. They typically eat grass and other types of shrubs. There are twelve subspecies.
