Hog Island
Sheep
Hog Island sheep are a breed of sheep descended from animals first brought to Virginia's Hog Island in the 1700s. The sheep is relatively small but tough and hardy. The Hog Island sheep is not commonly used in modern agriculture, largely because of its endangered status and because more modern breeds have been bred for other characteristics, including maximum size and fleece yield.
