Olde English "Babydoll" Miniature Southdown
Sheep
Over the years these sheep were bred to the tall, long, and lean sheep of today's Southdowns. Pockets of the original small Southdowns were discovered scattered on small farms around the country and were again of interest to people who have the desire to own a few farm animals as pets, or for market, without the need for a large barn, large acreage or the kind of strength needed to handle standard breed sheep. To distinguish these small old original types of Southdown from the large modern Southdown they were renamed Babydoll Southdown Sheep.
