Sardinian
Sheep
The Sardinian (Brabei Sarda in Sardinian, Pecora Sarda in Italian) is a breed of domestic sheep from the island Sardinia. It was developed from crosses of local lowland sheep, Merinos, and North African sheep. The Sardinian is primarily used to produce sheep milk for distinctive cheeses such as Pecorino Sardo, but also has a long, coarse white wool that is prized for weaving carpets and other goods. Ewes are polled, and rams are occasionally horned.
